February was a beautiful month that came with some of the coldest temperatures. Among the snow and freezing wind, students at Canada Royal Arts High School participated in a variety of activities. The Activities of the Month ranged from relaxing yoga to active team-building games. Check out what our students have been doing for February!
Activities of the Month for February
Olympic Experience at the Olympic Oval
The Olympic Experience is an interactive museum. Participants engage in variety of stimulated sports that mimic the winter Olympics. As a result, you can ride a bobsled through a course, become a professional race-car driver, or test your reaction time with your friends.
Playing Pool and Arcade Games at E-Spot Billiards
E-Spot has been part of Richmond Arcade and Game culture for a long time. Players can enjoy a wide range of games due to E-Spots recent upgrade. At E-Spot you can play pool, arcade games, and more.
Team Building Games – Tower Challenge
Team Building games are a great way to strengthen your relationships with your classmates and friends. Consequently, we had our students participate in the Tower Challenge. The goal was to create the tallest, free-standing tower in 20 minutes. It was great to see many students working together and solving problems. Most noteworthy was the interactions students had with one another.
Yoga with Gina
One of our wonderful teachers, Gina, taught Ashtanga Yoga to our students. Due to Gina’s expertise, students spent one hour practicing a variety of stretches and calming exercises. As a result, they had a much needed break from their hectic school life. Gina led the students through a series of movements that strengthened their muscles.
Decorating t-shirts for Pink T-Shirt Day
Pink T-Shirt Day happens every year on February 28th. This day is meant to bring awareness to the negative side affects that come with bullying. Especially relevant is how Pink T-Shirt Day started. Pink T-Shirt Day started in 2007, after a fellow student was bullied for wearing a pink t-shirt school.
