Canada Royal Arts High School invites YOU to participate in a school-wide Art Competition. You have the option to choose from 4 themes to use as the source of your inspiration. There will be three grand prize winners and four works or art selected for professional framing. This Art Competition is open to Canada Royal Arts High School Students only!
How do I apply?
- Choose from one of the following 4 themes to use as your inspiration for the contest.
Theme 1: A Vancouver Landscape
You will choose a local cityscape/landscape as the subject. Using a medium of your choice (pen and ink, paint, collage, or decoupage) and bring your vision of Vancouver to life.
Theme 2: Draw an Object, Any Object
You will select and illustrate an object that has personal meaning to you.
Theme 3: Everything is Canvas
Everything and anything is a potential canvas. You will use recycled materials to create a work of art. Recycled materials and found materials can be a source of great inventiveness.
Theme 4: The Art of Small Things
You will focus on study of ‘small things’, particularly flowers. You will illustrate, paint, use mixed media to explore the form and meaning of creating a work of art that pays homage to the details.
- Complete your chosen theme by Friday, April 30th.
Bring your work of art to school on Friday, April 30th to Ms. Gina Leon. The recommended size for your submission is 24 inches by 36 inches.
- Winners will be determined the following week.
The first, second, and third prize winners will be selected by Wednesday, May 4th.
What are the prizes?
- First Place – Cash prize of $100.
- Second Place – Cash prize of $50.
- Third Place – Art Supplies from Phoenix Art Workshop (valued at $35).
Also, four students will get their works of art professionally framed and displayed.
